The Lesson of the Vulture: The Consequences of Consuming Forbidden Sustenance

The vulture is a carrion-eating bird, and in its nature, Allah has given us a message for contemplation. When it feeds, its stomach fills, but the hunger never ends. It begins to run, and in doing so, it vomits what it has eaten. Afterward, it resumes eating, but again, the stomach fills, yet the hunger does not cease. This cycle repeats itself, but the hunger never ends, because it feeds on what is forbidden and decayed.

These are universal principles set by nature, serving as a moment of reflection for those who consume forbidden sustenance. Allah has granted some people the opportunity to consume as much as they can, but they will forever be deprived of the true satisfaction of the soul. Consuming haram (forbidden) sustenance brings nothing but hardship, and while the stomach may fill, the hunger will never be truly satisfied.

May Allah grant us the ability to consume only halal (permissible) sustenance. Ameen.
